Anthotype
Printing using ultraviolet light (as from the sun) to bleach parts of an image coated in photosensitive emulsion (made from plant materials).

SLOW GROWING
Turmeric and isopropyl alcohol anthotype on printmaking paper. Exposure taken over the course of 4 days outside in the sunny southern California summer.

Cyanotype
Photo-sensitive chemical process (ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide) applied to natural fiber paper or cloth, used for art printing (for example printing the silhouette of objects such as plants) and also for reprography (blueprints).

Monotype
Print taken by applying medium (paint or ink) to a surface (such as glass) and transferring to the printing paper by pressing the two together. Many of my monotypes involve building up layers over multiple pulls and unconventional matrix materials (recycled plastic, for example).

Collagraph
Collage-based printing method, combining materials with varying textures and profiles to achieve the resulting printing plate. May be inked intaglio, relief, or a combination of both.
These are my first results from playing with this printmaking method.




Intaglio
I’ve etched a few simple demo plates, but haven’t had great success in pulling prints by hand. I don’t have ready access to an etching press. So I’m continuing to experiment with techniques to improve results.
